ABOUT US
The HBA of Northern Michigan is a non-profit organization with members that include builders, remodelers, tradesmen, suppliers and affiliated businesses in Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Otsego, and Emmet counties. Our Mission
The Mission of the Home Builders Association of Northern Michigan: The HBA of Northern Michigan works to positively promote the construction and housing industry, provide educational and networking opportunities to build member businesses, and serves to impact legislative, regulatory, and legal issues affecting homeownership at local, state and national levels.
Special Programs for Members
HBA of Northern Michigan Remodelers Council
Since 1982, NAHB Remodelers Council Members have been dedicated to raising professionalism in the remodeling industry. As a unified force, members have forged an extensive program of education and information to aid remodelers in all phases of their business.
Professional Women in Building (PWB)
The PWB Council of the HBA of Northern Michigan supports the professional development of women of the home building industry through our educational series, training, and leadership skills for the overall building industry and assists in accomplishments for the NAHB, NAHB-PWB, and our local HBA of Northern Michigan.
HBA of Northern Michigan High-Performance Building Council – formerly the Green Building Council
Green Rating and Green-certified homes are excellent products, unfortunately, the concept of “Green” has been skewed and made it difficult for the public to disseminate and identify the purpose of having a fully Certified Green home. We wish to clarify and offer the clients verifiable improvements in Energy Savings and equally in the Indoor Quality of the Air they breathe. These are the main contributors to the Green Rated programs and certainly concern our clients. This will allow more members to obtain High-Performance Designations by simply verifying the substantial reduction in energy usage per the committee standards and on this will ride the improvement to indoor air quality.
