SHED BUILD by the local high school trades students

Students from several local high school building trades programs compete on Friday, March 13 in a garden shed building competition.  High Schools participating include Pellston, Boyne City, and Petoskey. Attendees can watch the students in action building sheds on Friday with awards handed out at 5:00 pm Friday.  The garden sheds will be raffled off on Saturday at 3 p.m.  Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each or six for $20.  Winners will be responsible for getting the sheds home, but we have some options available to get them delivered.  All proceeds from the shed raffle tickets will go to the HBA of Northern Michigan's Workforce Development Initiative, a program that helps students and young adults connect to training resources, apprenticeships, and jobs in the construction industry in Northern Michigan.

The Shed Build is sponsored by Builders First Source, Home Depot, Barden Lumber, Preston Feather Building Centers, and the Northern Michigan Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Birchwood Construction will provide the Golden Hammer Award to the shed winner and 2nd place tool belts will be awarded by McBride Remodeling.
